Weekend Recap: Retail Therapy

Does anyone remember the Polished Face Kit at Saks?

"EXCLUSIVELY AT SAKS. Tucked inside this Marc Jacobs leather clutch is everything you'll need to achieve a fresh, polished face. Includes Dior 5-Color Eyeshadow compact in Tender Chic, Nars The Multiple in Copacabana, Yves Saint Laurent Touch Blush in Number 2, Giorgio Armani Gloss in Number 16, Guerlain Le 2 Two-Brush Mascara in black and a deluxe sample of Chanel Sublimage. Clutch has zip top and logo plaque." Retail Price: $198

I just wanted this kit so badly when I first saw it. Mark Jacobs leather clutch packed with all the high-end goodies inside. If you have to think about it $198 isn't all that bad for what you're getting. Everything inside was the full-size products tucked in a leather designer clutch.

It's a pretty good bargain for what it is priced at.
Dior 5-Color Eyeshadow = $54
NARS The Multiple in Copacabana = $37
YSL Touche Blush in Number 2= $47
Giorgio Armani Gloss in Number 16 = $26
Guerlain Le 2 Two-Brush Mascara in black = $35
deluxe sample of Chanel Sublimage = ??

So if you add everything up, it'll total up to $199 which doesn't include the clutch or the sample in the computation yet. You're either paying for the clutch only or the goodies inside... however you want to look at it. Well, at the time I couldn't justify myself to pay for $200 (or even now). It's still a bit too much and I couldn't bring myself to buy it (no matter how pretty it is).

But guess what... I ended up picking it up yesterday. Why? Because the prices for the kit was slashed 50% off the retail price! It's currently on sale for $99 only!!!!!! Duuuuh! Of course I couldn't pass this up! When can you get high-end goods at that price with a designer leather clutch? I'm squealing inside as I'm typing this. I can't believe I got everything in that clutch and the clutch for $100. It's almost as good as being stolen (but it's not of course!).

This is probably my most favorite purchase ever!!

What a pretty Marc Jacobs leather bag :).

My heart stopped. Seriously. High-end, superficial makeup in it's basking glory.

*squeals*

At this point, I'm hyperventilating...

I love itttt! Since I wanted to get my grimey hands on it already, I told my bf to take me to the Saks in Beverly Hills to pick one up. Luckily, he's trying to waste some gas before he takes his car to the port to be shipped in Hawaii. I called ahead of time (and I suggest you doing so) before I went there to make sure I won't leave empty handed. It was probably the smartest thing to do since there was a crazy sale going the a lot of the merchandise surprisingly have been cleaned out of the shelves (Women's section).

The lady who also held the stuff for me put three for me aside, so I can pick which clutch I want. She gave me the nicest one out of the three. She even told me that there was a lady that came in earlier and bought TEN of those as her gift to her bridesmaids (lucky them!). I'm just happy I got a hold of one in time before they ran out... considering I think she only had three of them left.

So it's not too late. You can pick this baby up online at SaksFifthAvenue.com or visit your nearest counter and ask for it. I suggest calling in first and ask them if they can put it on hold for you.

Anyway, after Saks, we hit up Marukai in Gardena to check it out and see if there's any good Japanese goodies I can pick up. The Yu-be cream and lotion were on sale, and so was their Japanese magazines. I had to stock up on some Mandom Makeup Remover (HG makeup remover aka unicorn tears), and some other things shown below. I try not to buy the whole cosmetic aisle and just picked up what I needed.

And here was my BeautyHabit.com haul. I've had this for sometime now, but I just haven't had the chance to post it. I love Paul & Joe stuff. Just their packaging is to die for!! It it's even better when they're 25% off (Enter code: BHCANDY at checkout, valid til November 30th so you still have time)! I was going to pick up some of their Disney collection, but I didn't really have a use for it so I skipped it. I just got their Dual Protection Powder, two lipgloss, one lipstick, and a face color (I think I'll use it for contouring, we'll see).

Oh, and Beauty Habit also has a sampling program for $15 for any 6 samples of any products you may want to try.

And lastly, my Eyeko haul. Again, this was a previous haul that I received awhile back but just never posted. Review coming up for the Eyeko Cream soon! Weee, another cute packaging! And it's pink!

And you can get a free gift at Eyeko by entering the code E122 at check-out!

Anyway, that wraps up my latest retail therapy. OK really, no more. I'm going to Vegas this Thanksgiving weekend which will also be my last one for a long while as my bf moves back home to Hawaii! It's going to be weird without him! But thanks to Gtalk with voice and video I think we'll be ok. Anyway, I'm planning to go visit him in February if things go according to plan.

We'll be staying at the Mandalay Bay hotel, so if any of you beauty bloggers will be down there for the weekend, let me know! I'll refrain myself to buy anything while I'm there. But it'll be Black Friday too! Does anyone know if there are any good sales in Vegas for Black Friday???

So that's it kiddies! And I'll leave you with food pr0n from Tito's Tacos in Culver City!!

Great P&J haul! Didn't get anything...but I guess I still have time lol.

And, I would use Skype for video b/c they have HD capabilities granted you have an HD webcam (which I do and it comes out SUPER clear).

@ melissa: Wow, $20-$50 and then approx. x2? Anyway, some people won't get this addiction of ours til they get started on it.

@ mayaari: They're soo pretty. I love them all. The palette is actually a beauty! I thought it'll have a lame colored palette inside.

@ loveshara: your welcome :). let me know if you do end up getting it!

Yay for P&J goodies, :) can't wait to read what you think about your purchases!

  • cosmetic.junkie

Hi Anne! I'm a huge fan of your blog and a lot of the new skincare products I've recently gotten have been because of you and a few other lovely bloggers :) In the picture with all your Japanese goodies, what is that pink spray bottle next to the Mandom (unicorn tears!)? If you could like the stuff in the picture I'd appreciate it! I want to go to the Marukai in my area and I'd some ideas of what to get. Thanks!

  • fuzkittie

    !!!!!
You are on the road of no return to HE heaven..!! xD That Polished kit is indeed very very nice~ :] Yayy P&J!

  • sab

Paul&Joe sale! wow! that Marc Jacobs clutch and all the goodies inside is love! so worth it!

  • Vivi

omg that polished face kit is pure orgasm as it is...not to mention the 50% off price!!! must *hint* to my boyfriend about getting it for xmas...hehe! ah, im so jealous of you girls on the west coast--west coast has a big selection of asian goodies unlike the stores here on the east coast, boohoo! lol unicorn tears huh? i'll have to try that once i finish my DHC cleansing oil =D oh and i look forward to your eyeko cream review...i've been thinking about getting it

  • Anne @ yummiebitez.com

@ Tiffany: LOL... your welcome sweets! Don't worry i was stoked too when I walked home with that clutch.

@ Nikki: I know!! I was surprised myself. It's uber cheap if you think about it. But yes, I'll definitely update you on the P&J products.

@ Fuz: And you're the one to blame HAHAHA. I couldn't pass up on this super deal though!

@ Sab: P&J is soo much better when it's discounted. hahaha. And yes that clutch is sooo worth it.

@ Vivi: You better hint it to your bf quick cuz they might sell out quick! tell him he's actually getting a pretty sweet deal for it as your xmas gift haha. I thought NYC has better selection of Japanese products? Although we have quite a few Japanese stores located here in Cali, if you're not living in the area, they're all quite a drive hence why I try to get them all at once since I can't make trips to the stores often.

  • Anne @ yummiebitez.com

@ cosmetic.junkie: The one in the spray bottle is a fix water for the hair. I pretty much ended up with it because of the packaging LOL. I'll let you know what brand it is when I get home and take a look at it again.

  • cosmetic.junkie

I just realized my comment didn't make much sense, lol. I meant to say, "If you could *list* the stuff in the picture I'd appreciate it! I want to go to the Marukai in my area and I'd *like* some ideas of what to get. Thanks!" I'm sure you knew what I meant, but I just wanted to clarify. Haha, the main reason I was curious about the spray bottle was because it was pink :)

  • Vivi

Hm...perhaps I just look in the wrong places. I feel like NYC's Chinatown cosmetic selection isn't that good. Or maybe I'm too preoccupied with the delish baked goods and bubbletea, haha! I love those chinese hot dog buns...<3

  • Iyah

OMGosh Girly! when you haul, you haul the whole store!! ahhh!! I so envy youuuuuu!!! OMgosh, I wan the Clutch! It looks so classy! yum yum & I just love your japanese haul! I need to try the mandom & hopefully I won't break out :D I want the Yu-be also! I heard it does good for your lashes! :D

  • pandasunite

I need to find the Marukai in Gardena! Can you give me the address. I totally love LOVE Asian supermarkets, they are like fun little adventures.

  • MakeupByRenRen

OMG girl, those hauls are to die for! i've never tried all those high end cosmetics before (biting fingers) im trying to see if i should get them!

  • Cindyy825

Just reading this post with all those goodies in that Marc Jacob bag made me squeal! Too bad I'm broke! but YAY YOU!

  • Anne @ yummiebitez.com

@ cosmetic junkie: here's a list of what I hauled that day:

    Ray magazine
Mandom Hair Fix Spray (floral scent)
Yu-be moisturizing cream (tub) and lotion (tube)
    Mandom cleanser (makeup remover)
Lucido L (by Mandom) hair wax

Some other stuff that I've picked up in marukai and other Japanese stores:

Naris up Skin Moisturizing point mask/lotion. Read review here: http://yummiebitez.blogspot.com/2008/11/product-review-naris-up-skin.html

And here's another post with my previous haul that you might find at Marukai too: http://yummiebitez.blogspot.com/2008/11/weekend-recap-and-haul-halloween.html.

    I hope this helps.

@ Vivi: I would love to visit NYC! I know you guys have Anna Sui there and Paul & Joe!!! We don't have it here in Cali (or at least have seen it anywhere)

@ Iyah: I try not to haul the whole store. hehe But yea I've heard about that with the Yu-be cream. We'll see if it does work.

@ pandasunite: There are actually two Marukai's in Gardena. I suggest you go to the the one in W. Artesia Blvd since it has way more selections when it comes to beauty and cosmetics.

1620 W. REDONDO BEACH BLVD. GARDENA, CA 90247

1740 WEST ARTESIA BLVD., GARDENA, CA 90248

Good luck in your mini adventure! let us know what you end up getting :)

@ Ate Ren: I mainly got it cuz it's soo pretty! LOL. And also cuz it's cheap!

    @ Cindy825: I'm still squealing inside lol.

  • pandasunite

Thanks Anne! I think I am going to try to go tomorrow! I am so excited :)

  • angie519

Way to go Anne!! Now that's what I call shopping! Oooh everything in that clutch looks great! I would use everything in that giftset! Let me know how you like the blush!

    I love Yu-Be!!!

I'm gonna get me some Paul and Joe right now! Damn you enabler =P!

I have Eyeko's eye cream too. It does a great job highlighting. I'm embarassed to say I never thought of using it on my cheeks haha. I think sometimes it's too pink under my eyes but I love the color of the cream haha.

  • M

great stuff! thank you for posting about the saks goodie! i wants it!

  • SimpleMe

    OMGG!!!! I'm sooo jealousss!!!
